1492, Christopher Columbus and his ships crew claimed to have discovered the American continent which he called 'New World'. Nearly five hundred years later, in 1969, the 'New World' is found again one of the world is none other than 'Cyberspace'. Of course the inventor is no longer the Columbus and his crew, but the
IT technician at the Department of Defense (DoD) United States. Project through ARPA / ARPANET (Advanced Research Project Agency Network), the technicians are based at the Pentagon that demonstrate how the hardware and UNIX-based computer software, people can perform communication in an infinite distance via telephone lines. The next ARPANET project designing a network, reliability, and how much information can be transferred. The results of this project that became the forerunner of the current construction of a new protocol known as TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol).

At first, the ARPANET was made to the national security interests of the United States (U.S.) and only connecting 4 of the site owned by Stanford Research Institute, University of California, Santa Barbara, University of Utah, where they form an integrated network in 1969. After that, the ARPANET began to be widely introduced in October 1972. Not long after the project is growing rapidly in some states to attract a number of universities in the U.S. to join. This makes it difficult to set the ARPANET. To overcome this, the ARPANET was split into two, namely "MILNET" for military purposes (national security) and the "ARPANET" new smaller for non-military purposes such as, universities. Combined both networks eventually known as the DARPA Internet, which then reduces again to the Internet alias 'Cyberspace'.
